Amount/Measure/Ingredient:
3 bars (6 ounces) Semi-Sweet baking chocolate, melted and cooled
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
Preparation:
Beat the sugar, butter and vanilla in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer. Add eggs; beat for 2 minutes. Beat in the melted chocolate. Combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt and sift. Stir into the egg mixture alternating with the milk.
Pour into well-greased 9 inch round baking pans or one 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 30- 35 minutes until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes, invert on wire cake racks to un-mold and cool completely.
Frost with chocolate frosting.
