Shrimp and Broccoli Pizza
oh this is so good...
This recipe assumes that you know how to make a pizza at home and that
you are actually pretty good at it and you want to make a 12 inch pizza
for two. You don't have to have an oven pizza stone or wooden peel to
make it on and for sliding it onto the stone in the oven. It can be made
on a baking pan. Only one suggestion...preheat your oven to at least 500
degrees for 30 minutes before putting it in...and at least 60 minutes if
using a pizza stone!
Here is what you need to duplicate the pizza in the picture.
8 ounces raw peeled and deveined shrimp, cut in
1/2 inch pieces
1tsp. Garlic, fresh peeled and chopped very fine
2
tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp. Chardonnay
1 tsp. Dried
oregano
1 tbsp. Chopped parsley
Several grinds of black pepper
A few shakes of salt
Combine all ingredients and marinate for at
least 1 hour
1 pizza dough ball, homemade or store bought
7/8 cup Hellman's
mayonnaise
1 cup partially cooked (blanched) broccoli florettes
1/2 package Gilbani brand fresh mozzarella, coarsely grated or diced in
1/4 inch pieces
2 slices provolone, torn in small pieces
1/4
tbsp.grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil
Prepare your dough and have all the ingredients prepared so that you are
ready to assemble the pie and put it right in the oven. You might even
want to set a table, have a salad ready and have all that stuff ready
too!
Roll out the dough, and top with the mayonnaise, spreading
it out evenly. Sprinkle on the mozzarella and provolone, top this with
the broccoli and then sprinkle on the marinated shrimp so they are
evenly distributed. Sprinkle the Parmesan evenly over the pie and then
drizzle on the extra virgin olive oil. Immediately into the oven it
goes, to be turned around after five minutes so it cooks evenly and then
for another five minutes or so until you determine its proper doneness.
My oven reaches 625 degrees F and cooks the pizza on a stone, in 7
minutes.
